# Notifications overview

CircleCI can send you email notifications about your builds. You can choose the email address CircleCI uses, which builds you receive emails for, and a different email address for each organization and project. You can also send notifications from your pipelines using orbs.

This page explains how to configure email notifications.

## User-level notifications

Configure your notification preferences, including the email address to use and which build emails you receive.

### Default email address for notifications

To set or change your default email address, follow these steps:

1. In the CircleCI web app, select your avatar at the top right corner in the web app.

2. Select **User Settings**.

3. Select **Notifications** from the sidebar.

At the top of the page, select **Change Email Address** to choose your default email address.

### Build notifications

Under **Build notifications**, choose which build emails you receive:

* **All builds in my projects**: an email for every build in your projects.

* **My builds**: an email every time a build you pushed fails, and when it is fixed. For GitHub projects, this also includes anyone’s builds in branches you have pushed to before.

* **None**: no build emails. You still receive administrative emails about your account.

### Notification preferences for each organization and project

Under **Notification Preferences**, you can use a different email address for each organization and project. Select **Change Email Address** next to the organization or project, and choose the address to use.

## Sending notifications with orbs

You can use orbs to integrate notifications into your configuration. CircleCI offers a Slack orb and an IRC orb. Several third-party orbs are also available. Search the [orb registry](https://circleci.com/developer/orbs?query=notification&filterBy=all) to see what other orbs are available. For more information on using the Slack orb, see [Using the Slack Orb](https://circleci.com/docs/guides/server/getting-started/slack-orb-tutorial/).
