CircleCI’s native Slack integration is now generally available — shared project notifications for the team, and personal DM notifications for you, no orb config required.
What’s included
- Workflow failure notifications for your default branch, posted to a shared Slack channel
- Approval request notifications sent to a shared channel, personal DMs, or both — approve or cancel a paused workflow right from the message
- Personal DM notifications for workflows you trigger, with status filters (succeeded, failed, cancelled, unauthorized, and more)
- Deployment notifications for successful, failed, and inconclusive releases
- When a workflow you triggered completes, you’ll be automatically @mentioned in the shared channel notification
Get started
- Install the CircleCI Slack app: Org Settings → Slack Integration
- Configure project-level notifications: Project Settings → Slack Notifications (anyone with write access to the project can manage these)
- Set your personal notification preferences: User Settings → Notifications
