Re-announcing the deprecation of Xcode 16.2.0 and 26.2.0

Following our Xcode image retention policy, Xcode 16.2.0 and 26.2.0 will be removed on December 7th, 2026.

Why we’re announcing this again: Under our policy, deprecated Xcode images are retained for 30 days after announcement and then removed. Some of these images were not fully removed on their original schedule. This was unintentional and doesn’t reflect our policy. We’re correcting it, and because some teams may have continued running on these images in the meantime, we’re giving a full 30 days’ notice, including brownouts, before the removal is enforced. We apologize for the confusion.

What you need to do: Update the xcode: version in your config to a currently supported image before the first brownout. If your jobs run on one of these images, you’ll also see a deprecation warning on them. Apple has required Xcode 26 or later for App Store uploads since April 28, 2026, so we recommend moving to a current Xcode 26 release or later. See supported Xcode versions.

We will be performing 24 hour brownouts from 00:00:01 to 23:59:59 UTC during which these images will be unavailable. The brownout and removal schedule can be found below.

You can opt out of brownouts and continue using these images until they are removed on December 7th, 2026, by following our opt-out instructions.
